Another product that was advertised similar to how I want my animations to act was Star War: The Old Republic, an MMORPG set in the star wars universe about 2000 years before the 'Skywalker Saga', the trailers tell the story of the ancient sith empire returning to the galaxy to wreak havoc against the Jedi order and the republic.
The trailers set up the whole game as a galaxy in the middle of a great war, this is exactly what I am trying to set up with my animations on a much smaller scale.
SWTOR used these trailers to set up various factions and characters, my 'trailers' are a way to tell how certain characters got to the points that they did before the events of the graphic novel.
