Today I went out to a comic book store and picked up some pretty cool things, the death of Superman graphic novel, although its not a great story and it’s not exactly well written the art isn’t back and the sheer iconicness of the book meant I had to have it, then there’s this Crisis on infinite earths issue 1 now if there was ever a guideline of how to write a massive crossover story line with multiple versions of different characters and a major character sacrifice then this is it, as far as I’m concerned this story is one of the greatest stories ever written, marvels infinity gauntlet book is no comparison to the huge scope of this book, I’ll enjoy this one for years to come.
I feel that i have to avoid the tropes of a standard superhero story but at the same time parody them at the same time, for example it might be a good idea to parody the whole journalist girlfriend that most superheroes tend to have for some reason, Like Crisis on Infinite earths I may end up with a tragic sacrificial death of a beloved character, mimicking the death of superman I think it is necessary for the heroes to lose the final battle to show the reality of the battle between good and evil.
