So we were shown some work by the previous third years and i had some thoughts about them.
Mother Earth was a brilliant film, it had a wonderful art style and fantastic story, a lot of the animation was very fluid and nice to look at i thought when the tanks were firing was an especially nice movement, the only part that i wasn't very impressed with was the sound design but dont misunderstand me, the sound effects were all great and fit really well, the voice acting was very solid and clear, my only issue was that at times i couldn't hear the dialogue too much, in summary i thought this film was incredibly well done, it was thought provoking and emotionally charged, im very impressed.
A Snails Dream was nothing short of abysmal, i felt as though it was an insult to the university and the course itself, there was no direction, no effort and definitely no love in this 'film', the characters were poorly designed and had no personality what so ever, i couldn't even make out what the snake was saying due to the very unprofessional voice acting, it was not impressive.
Road man was another good example of what a third year student can do great characters, fun story and great ending the only problem being the fact that it seemed like a piece of a larger film, i did really enjoy this one though, it was a lot of fun and it was clearly pushed with a lot of passion behind it.
Trip to the store I really enjoyed it obviously not the best but it stood out to me, i quite enjoyed the concept even though it might have been a little cliche but it was executed well. The creator was clearly a background artist and not a character artist, but i can excuse this because they clearly tried their best although it could have been so much more, perhaps if they had more time i would praising this one.
Deep Space was an incredibly boring, hard to watch film, the characters had lazy designs the story was stale and the backgrounds were dull, i dont have much to say about this one except i didn't enjoy it.
One of those animations was great it was probably my favourite of the lot, the character was so simple but so much fun, the creator clearly had fun with this one, i loved it and i cant say much else.
